STEERING REPAIRS IN MOLENDINAR
Steering that feels heavy, vague or noisy changes how safely the car can be driven. Tie rod ends, rack components, power steering and front-end joints all play a part, so an inspection finds the cause before parts are swapped.

Signs something is wrong
Play in the steering wheel, a clunk when turning, a whine on full lock, a wheel that is off centre or steering that suddenly feels heavy are all reasons to get it checked. Some of these overlap with tyre, wheel and suspension problems, which is why we look at the whole front end.
- Loose or vague steering.
- Clunks or knocks when turning.
- Whining or groaning, especially on full lock.
- Heavy steering or a steering wheel that is off centre.
Power steering and electric steering
Hydraulic systems can leak or lose assistance, and electric power steering can show a warning light or lose assistance without warning. Tell us about any warning messages and whether the problem is constant or comes and goes. Do not keep driving if the steering suddenly becomes very heavy.
Protect your tyres
Worn steering components often show up as uneven tyre wear before you feel them. If your tyres are wearing on one edge, mention it when you book so steering and suspension can be checked alongside the tyres. Contact our Molendinar workshop to arrange an inspection.
YOUR QUESTIONS.
STRAIGHT ANSWERS.
Why does my steering feel loose?
Common causes include worn tie rod ends, ball joints or rack components. An inspection identifies which part is worn so only what is needed gets replaced.
Why is my steering making a whining noise?
On hydraulic systems it can point to low fluid, a leak or a failing pump. Tell us when it happens and get it checked before it gets worse.
Is it safe to drive with heavy steering?
Sudden heavy steering means assistance has been lost and the car is harder to control. Pull over somewhere safe and call us to discuss the safest way to get it to the workshop.
Will steering problems wear my tyres?
Yes, worn steering parts can cause uneven tyre wear. Mention any unusual tyre wear when you book so the steering and suspension are checked together.
